Deshaun Watson plays with broken shoulder as Cleveland quarterback reflects on CU season

The Cleveland Browns quarterback gave an emotional response to suffering a broken shoulder during the NFL team’s recent win over the Baltimore Ravens.

Deshaun Watson admitted he’s still “not confident” after suffering a shoulder injury against the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday.

The Cleveland Browns quarterback is out for the rest of the NFL season with a throwing hand injury. The 28-year-old suffered a broken and sprained ankle in the first half of the team’s 33-31 win over the Ravens at M&T Bank Stadium.

Watson played consistently at center, but his performance became more notable as the extent of his injury became public. He completed 20 of 32 passes for 213 yards and a touchdown to Elijah Moore.

He also completed all 14 passes in the second half and hit Dustin Hopkins in the final minute for the game-winning touchdown.

An MRI after the game confirmed that Watson would need surgery to fracture the glenoid in his right shoulder.
The news means the three-time Pro Bowler, who missed this season, will now have to miss 39 games over the past three seasons.

The suspension included an 11-game suspension for what was deemed a violation of the NFL’s personal conduct policy.

Speaking about his injury, Watson admitted it was “really hard” to endure and said he was “suffering from it”.
