Seven-time Formula 1 World Champion Lewis Hamilton debuts an “Icon Series” skin pack for the popular online battle royale game Fortnite.
Already home to several celebrities and athletes, the Icon Series is now opening its doors to legendary F1 drivers.
The series has previously featured sports icons like LeBron James and pop stars like Travis Scott and Ariana Grande.
Set to launch in the Fortnite Item Shop on November 17th at 7pm ET, the Lewis Hamilton Icon Series promises a unique blend of style and content.
In the online game, Hamilton’s character has two different outfits.
In First Gear, Hamilton wears a zigzag jacket that reflects his “streetwear” aesthetic. The second outfit shows a typical F1 driver outfit.
This collaboration also includes special accessories. The set includes a surfboard-style glider, sword pike and colorful bling on the back.
This character has some similarities with the Marvel superhero Black Panther.
Another notable addition for fans is Back Bling, inspired by Hamilton’s beloved bulldog, Roscoe.
The color black is a tribute to Hamilton’s canine friend, who has a significant following on social media.
Mercedes will not be seen in the Lewis Hamilton-Fortnite collaboration.
Interestingly, Hamilton’s Mercedes F1 team is not featured in the branding for this Fortnite collaboration.
The trailer was released on Fortnite. However, there was no indication that Mercedes had anything to do with this crossover.
This is the second time Hamilton has collaborated on a video game.
The legendary F1 driver was also previously seen in the Call Of Duty game franchise. He appeared as Officer Carl Hamilton in Infinite Warfare.
When Lewis Hamilton’s Fortnite character is released on Friday, fans will be eager to get their hands on the new skin.
