Vikings Activate Mullens, Elevate Barr & Williams, Rule Out Jefferson & Reed
WR Justin Jefferson and G Chris Reed have been downgraded to OUT for tomorrow’s game. Nick Mullens has been activated to the 53-man roster and Anthony Barr and Joejuan Williams have been elevated to the active roster for the game against the Broncos.
EAGAN, Minn. — The Vikings on Saturday activated quarterback Nick Mullens to the 53-man roster ahead of visiting the Broncos in Week 11.
Mullens’ activation completes his return from injured reserve due to a back injury.
He will cover for Joshua Dobbs at quarterback while rookie Jaren Hall remains in the concussion protocol.
Mullens appeared in four games for Minnesota in 2022, but did not play in a regular season game this season.
Barr: I’m excited to be back and excited for this opportunity.
Barr joined the Vikings this week after Jordan Hicks was placed on reserve with a foot injury he suffered last week.
Hicks needed a procedure for compartment syndrome, but reports of his health were good.
Williams spent the offseason in Minnesota and was waived off Chicago’s practice squad earlier this season.
He appeared in four games for the Bears and returned to the Vikings after being released. He is scheduled to make his regular season debut for the Vikings on Sunday.
Minnesota cornerback Aquileb Evans sat out Friday’s game with a calf injury. Jefferson talks about his stance on Creed, Dobbs’ return to game action this week and more.
Jefferson and Reed are in the evaluation period but must make the 53-man roster to play.
The Vikings won their fifth straight game while the Broncos (4-5) won their third straight game.
Kickoff is scheduled for 7:20 p.m. (CT) Sunday on NBC’s Sunday Night Football.
