Sergio Perez “looks traumatised” after toe-curling Las Vegas GP pre-race driver ceremony
Sergio Perez appeared “injured” after the driver’s ceremony held in Las Vegas.
As in Miami earlier this year, the Las Vegas Grand Prix featured driver introductions on the grid, with each driver’s name being called out before the driver parade began.
Formula 1 fans have reacted en masse to the strange moment Sergio Perez was introduced to the public at the Las Vegas Grand Prix.
For the first time in 40 years, F1 will race in the United States three times a year.
The first competition was held in Miami last May, the US GP was held in Austin last month and the first official competition was held in Las Vegas.
A driver ceremony was held before the race in Miami and received mixed reviews from fans.
That didn’t happen in Texas, but he’s back in the lead ahead of Sunday’s race in Sin City.
Legendary UFC announcer Bruce Buffer appeared and introduced the hosts in turn. They then climbed into the classic car behind him so he could drive around the circuit and wave to the crowd, as is standard in F1 racing.
However, this led to a very awkward moment where Perez didn’t know what to do.
When Buffer called his name, he headed for the cage, but instead of going straight to his car, he stood in front of the announcer as if waiting for some kind of interview.
Finally, Buffer called out Perez’s name in front of the Mexican driver, who stood there smiling nervously.
Then the driver would smile and drive away until the next driver showed up, leaving Perez standing there wondering what to do next.
As Buffer continued to introduce teammate Max Verstappen, Perez finally took the hint and left.
Of course, this success was driven by fans wanting to share their thoughts on the event.
