49ers’ McCaffrey draws perfect robot label after in-game helmet repair

General manager John Lynch sits down with Greg Papa on “49ers Game Plan” to break down the development of Brandon Aiyuk and how the San Francisco wide receiver only is going to get better

During the 49ers’ “Thursday Night Football” game at Lumen Field against the Seattle Seahawks, Christian McCaffrey, like a robot, was operating on autopilot and required a mid-game software update.

In addition to two touchdowns on the ground and 15 carries for 87 running yards, McCaffrey also had four grabs for 17 receiving yards through the air.

After scoring his second touchdown of the game in the second quarter, the NBC broadcast showed McCaffrey on the 49ers’ sideline having work done on his helmet. The shot immediately went viral and the jokes had no trouble writing themselves.
