Browns unique plan for Weeks 12, 13 after schedule request granted
Schedule for Cleveland Browns
After their scheduling request was approved, the Browns have an unusual strategy for Weeks 12 and 13. The schedule features back-to-back games in the West, as requested.
Although the Cleveland Browns schedule is known for a considerable amount of time, the level of difficulty varies practically weekly. The NFL schedule is more akin to a roller coaster, whether it be due to injuries, a club that is over or underachieving, or the play of the Browns.
Cleveland’s schedule will be challenged over the following four weeks by two AFC playoff candidates and two NFC losing clubs, beginning with the Denver Broncos in Week 12.
The Browns wanted to have two of their three games—against the Los Angeles Rams, Denver, and Seattle Seahawks—scheduled in back-to-back weeks. The request was granted by the NFL.
Cleveland will travel out for this week’s game against the Broncos and then remain out west prior to the Rams game, unless there has been a change in the original schedule. With less time spent flying, the squad should be able to acclimate to the time difference more completely.
A minor advantage is that the Browns will get an extra week to recover and bond as a unit (much like they did at the Greenbriar during training camp), especially considering the team’s early season bye week.
Additionally, only those who are traveling for both games will be able to interview the squad with the media.
If Cleveland’s strategy works for the club in Week 13 in Los Angeles, only time will tell.
The Browns’ schedule, which is 7-3, should help them win at least 10 games in 2023, but first they must complete this two-week road trip.
