Tom Brady will not be signing for any other team this season, despite the spate of season-ending injuries to quarterbacks around the NFL.

After 23 seasons as a professional, Brady, 46, announced his second and final retirement from football on February 1. Since then, a number of the league’s starting play-callers have suffered significant injuries that have kept them out of action this season.

After rupturing a ligament in his right wrist against the Baltimore Ravens, Joe Burrow became the most recent addition to that expanding list on “Thursday Night Football”. Daniel Jones of the New York Giants and Deshaun Watson of the Cleveland Browns were also declared out for the season in November.

Four snaps into Aaron Rodgers’ New York Jets debut, the quarterback went down with an Achilles injury in Week 1. The Indianapolis Colts, who selected Anthony Richardson with the fourth overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, had to undergo season-ending shoulder surgery in October, which had an impact on rookies as well.

Kirk Cousins’ ruptured Achilles caused the Vikings to lose him later that month. He joined a group that presently has six members and counting, making him the third member.

Due to those injuries, some reserve players have been given unexpected opportunities to start this season. Josh Dobbs of Minnesota stands out from the rest of the newcomers after becoming well-known following his trade with the Arizona Cardinals in exchange for Kirk Cousins.

But according to former New England Patriots quarterback Scott Zolak, the “Passtronaut” wasn’t the Vikings’ only choice. He revealed to co-host Marc Bertrand on his regular radio program “Zolak & Bertrand” on 98.5 The Sports Hub in Boston that the Vikings had “reached out” to Brady.

The admission was made during a conversation between the two about Bengals supporters’ demands that the team lure the seven-time Super Bowl champion out of retirement. During that chat, Zolak reaffirmed that Brady “is done”.

Brady is still involved in the sport even though his playing days are ended. He is not holding back his opinions for the $375 million, 10-year contract he will be taking as an analyst for FOX starting next year.

During his first appearance as an observer on “The Stephen A. Smith Show” earlier this week, he delivered a harsh assessment of the league. “I believe that a lot of mediocrity exists in the NFL nowadays. He remarked, “I don’t see the quality that I saw in the past.

Brady clarified, “I think the coaching isn’t as good as it was.” “I don’t believe that young players are developing as well as they formerly did. The schemes aren’t as good as they formerly were, in my opinion.

“The rules have allowed a lot of bad habits to get into the actual performance of the game. So I just think the product, in my opinion, is less than what it’s been.
