F1 NATION: Verstappen signs off in style and Mercedes grab P2
In the final Grand Prix of the season, Max Verstappen took his fourth consecutive victory in Abu Dhabi, taking his 19th victory in 2023. George Russell did well enough to take Mercedes into second place in the manufacturers’ standings, ahead of Ferrari , and a series of events took place in the lower part of the field.
With the Drivers’ and Constructors’ Championships on the horizon, Mercedes and Ferrari took the spotlight as they battled for second place, and it all came down to Russell’s last lap podium as he tried to get close enough to Sergio. Perez finished third, while Lewis Hamilton and Yuki Tsunoda finished seventh.
Toto Wolff joined the show to explain how Mercedes will look back on history to improve next year and take on Red Bull in 2024.
