Why F1 opponents are outraged by the AlphaTauri floor?
In the latter part of the Formula 1 season, AlphaTauri attracted notice for its quick gains, which were attributed to an ambitious upgrade package that had initially arrived in Singapore.
However, several of its rivals were impressed by its rate of advancement, raising worries that its closer ties to sister club Red Bull might be giving both teams an unfair advantage.
Teams can clearly benefit from closer communication when it comes to optimizing development trajectories, even though there are no indications that the Red Bull squads are breaking any laws.
For this reason, competitors were intrigued by the new AlphaTauri floor that was brought to Abu Dhabi; some said that it revealed information on not just the path of development but also as a result, just outside the outer floor gate, the ramped portion of the floor and the main body of the floor are disconnected once more.
This structure, along with the downstream edge wing, has also undergone reprofileing (see yellow dotted line below).
Instead of a more pronounced and squared-off profile like the one adopted at the US Grand Prix, the forward, more upwardly scrolling section of the edge wing was returned to the overlapping tongue-style configuration last used in Qatar (see inset).
The strakes have also been altered as a result of these modifications and the element’s decreased camber. Comparing this to the Qatar spec item, the part aft of the strakes has grown.
