Browns Lose Top Receiver to Another Brutal Injury Against Rams
After taking a strong hit, wide receiver Amari Cooper left Sunday’s game early, meaning the Cleveland Browns have lost another prominent player on offense.
In the second quarter, Cooper went to the locker room. He seemed to absorb a blow to the head after dropping a pass and getting caught between two defenders. Cooper was dealing with a rib injury when the game started. Cooper was reportedly having a concussion assessed, according to the FOX broadcast.
Cooper left the field slowly and headed straight for the medical tent. With about six minutes remaining in the second quarter, he soon after made his way to the locker room. Throughout his career, Cooper has been able to play through injuries; this was evident last year when he struggled to suit up in the final minutes.
He has been the Browns’ most productive wide receiver by a significant margin. In terms of receptions (49) and yards (799), Cooper leads the Browns. In addition, he is the only receiver on the team with a catch average of more than ten yards.
Amari Cooper was excited to play alongside Joe Flacco.
Before leaving the game against the Rams, Cooper had two receptions for 34 yards. Joe Flacco, the seasoned quarterback, impressed him right away with some excellent throws, so he was eager to work with him.
“He appears well. He tosses the ball really beautifully,” Cooper remarked on Thursday, November 30. “I’m not sure if it’s deliberate or not, but the entire action is like poetry in motion as he lowers back and lets it go. It appears nice.
Cooper’s resilience during the week was praised by Browns offensive coordinator Alex Van Pelt.
“The Amari man is unique. To get there, he battles through everything. It appears like he will repeat it this week, but on game day, Van Pelt said, “he lights up.” Thus, you shouldn’t be concerned about toughness when dealing with Amari. He will be there if he can, and he will give it his all on game day.
The Browns have suffered greatly from offensive injuries.
Cooper is the most recent victim of the offensive line ailments that have plagued the Browns. Pro Bowl quarterback Deshaun Watson was declared out of the season in November due to a broken shoulder bone, while running back Nick Chubb suffered a knee injury in Week 2 that ended his season.
In lieu of Watson, rookie Dorian Thompson-Robinson was injured on November 26 against the Denver Broncos. This week, Flacco had to start because Thompson-Robinson failed the concussion protocol.
Despite spending the first part of the season watching from his couch, 38-year-old quarterback Joe Flacco was eager to show that he still had it in him.
Thursday, November 30th, Flacco stated, “It’s definitely exciting.” “It’s not only that I get to play football; there are a lot of other interesting aspects of this phase of my life as well. These days, there are a lot of additional factors, like having young children and experiencing their enthusiasm for it. Additionally, it helps to put things in perspective when you are gone. And like I mentioned before, all you have to do is attempt to be prepared for these situations and let them take care of themselves.
