“A mere apology at the end is not acceptable,” Lewis Hamilton lashes out at the FIA after Susie Wolff was questioned.

“A mere apology at the end is not acceptable,” Lewis Hamilton lashes out at the FIA after Susie Wolff was questioned.

Regarding the F1 Academy manager Susie Wolff and her husband Toto Wolff’s probe, Lewis Hamilton has blasted the FIA. The way the governing body handled the matter over the weekend disappointed Hamilton.

Following purported accusations from rival team leaders over a confidential breach involving FOM and Toto Wolff, the FIA’s compliance branch declared that it was opening an investigation into the Wolff family.

In an unprecedented move, the regulatory body declared that it was ending the probe after the other nine teams denied ever having complained to the FIA. It concluded that F1’s compliance regulations were adequately strong two days after it began.

Lewis Hamilton, the driver of Mercedes, declared that the FIA’s treatment of Susie Wolff was “unacceptable” after the shocking turn of events over the last weekend. During the season-ending awards event, he spoke with Sky Sports and said:

“It has been a challenging week, I think a disappointing week really to see that the governing body of our sport has sought to question the integrity of one of the most incredible female leaders we’ve ever had in our sport, with Susie Wolff, without questioning, without any evidence. And then just saying sorry at the end, and that’s just unacceptable.”

In addition, Lewis Hamilton demanded that the FIA’s leadership be changed, claiming that “certain individuals” were impeding the advancements the sport has been making toward inclusivity and diversity. He declared:

“We’ve got a lot of great people within the sport that are doing amazing work.”

“There is a constant fight to really improve diversity and inclusion within the industry, but it seems that there are certain individuals in the leadership within the FIA that, every time we try to make a step forward, they try to pull us back, and that has to change,” he added.

In a statement, Susie Wolff pledged to investigate the events further in order to identify the person who started the campaign and deceived the media. Mercedes is reportedly engaged in a “active legal exchange with the FIA” over the matter, according to Toto Wolff.

Lewis Hamilton criticizes the 2023 Aston Martin campaign

The seven-time Formula One champion highlighted the dangers of replicating Red Bull for the next season, casting criticism on Aston Martin’s turbulent 2023 campaign.

Lewis Hamilton believed that replicating Red Bull and discarding Mercedes’ present efforts was not the best course of action, even as Mercedes continued to comprehend the ground effects rule.

“The thing is, with the timeline you have, and the limited resources you have, you can’t just throw it away and start from scratch. You can’t copy a car and start from that,” the Brit was quoted as saying by motorsport.com.

“Look at the Astons. They tried to copy a car and it wasn’t the same. It is not as easy as that. You have to try and take the good parts and through trial and error just try to add other parts,” he added.

Toto Wolff, the manager of the Mercedes team, has pledged a thorough makeover for their 2024 rival.
