Browns Sever Relations with Former Starting QB Before Jaguars Match
The quarterback for the Browns’ game versus the Jaguars has not yet been announced. Between Flacco and youngster Dorian Thompson-Robinson, the team is having to make a decision.
This week, both of them trained. I have faith in both of them because they both practiced well. But I’m not going to declare a starter,” Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski stated. “I believe that everyone will be aware of the start of the ball.”
When Flacco made his starting debut on December 3 against the Los Angeles Rams, he displayed some of the best quarterback performance the Browns have seen all year. For 254 yards and two touchdowns, Flacco completed 23 of his 44 throws. His one error came from an expensive interception in the fourth quarter that changed the course of the game.
Thompson-Robinson, who was first anointed the starter after Watson was declared out for the season, is the other choice. If Thompson-Robinson’s number is called, he will be prepared to suit up against the Jaguars after clearing the concussion protocol on Friday.
This season, Thompson-Robinson has started three games, and the Browns have lost all three of them. On October 1, the youngster was given a short notice start against the Baltimore Ravens, and he threw three interceptions en route to a 28-3 defeat. Throughout the season, Thompson-Robinson has completed 429 passes for 429 yards, one touchdown, and four interceptions.
QB Trevor Lawrence of the Jaguars will decide at game time.
In terms of their quarterback predicament, the Jaguars are likewise in the thin end. Following the team’s Week 13 loss to the Cincinnati Bengals, Trevor Lawrence sprained his high ankle and is now considered questionable. During the week, he practiced very little.
Head coach Doug Pederson of the Jaguars stated on Friday, December 8, that “he’s feeling good.” “This Thursday, he made some small movements. Let’s see how he performs today.” Trevor’s feelings are somewhat based on the opinions of the medical team.
The Browns will see C.J. Beathard if he is unable to go. Throughout his career, he is 2-10 as a starter, with all of those starts occurring with the San Francisco 49ers. In his career, he has thrown 18 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.
In their game on Sunday, the Browns are favored at home by three points over the Jaguars.
