Colorado signs its first offensive lineman to transfer in the offseason.
The revamped offensive line for Colorado is starting to take shape.
Yakiri Walker, a transfer from UConn, committed two days after Jordan Seaton, the top-ranked 2024 tackle, did. Walker, who graded out at 65.5 according to Pro Football Focus, started as the Huskies’ starting center this past season.
The three-star prospect, standing 6 feet 2 inches and 267 pounds, was a product of DeSoto High School in Texas. This same program produced Von Miller, Laviska Shenault Jr., and current Buffs safety Jaden Milliner-Jones.
Walker started in six games as a center and left tackle the next season after redshirting in 2021, and this past fall he was crowned the starting center.
Walker was rated by On3 as the transfer portal’s 16th-best interior offensive lineman.
Northern Arizona, Charlotte, Memphis, Bowling Green, and other institutions are among those that offered him through the portal.
