Regarding the reports that Lewis Hamilton approached Red Bull for a spot next to Max Verstappen, former Formula One champion Jacques Villeneuve said it’s normal for a driver to approach teams and then backtrack.
Red Bull team manager Christian Horner disclosed that the team had received an approach from Hamilton during the final race of the season.
Hamilton immediately asserted that he had not contacted Red Bull and refuted any such discussion.
Toto Wolff, the CEO of Mercedes, had even listened in on the conversation and corrected Horner’s remarks.
