Only a record: Max Verstappen discusses his thoughts on perhaps breaking yet another esteemed Lewis Hamilton record.
Max Verstappen, the driver for Red Bull, recently stated that he didn’t want to smash another record that competitor Lewis Hamilton held in the next races.
In his historic 2023 season, the three-time world champion won 19 of 22 races and scored 575 points to win the title, shattering numerous records.
In addition, he beat Sebastian Vettel’s record for the most straight race victories in the sport when he won his tenth race in Monza.
Max Verstappen is currently seven races behind Lewis Hamilton in the record for the most straight race finishes in sports, despite his amazing consistency and unstoppable season.
From the 2018 British Grand Prix to the 2020 Bahrain Grand Prix, the Mercedes driver did not withdraw from any races.
If Max Verstappen completes the first eight races without retiring, he may break the record the following year.
The Dutch driver stated of the record in an interview with Blick, a German publication: “Just a record, maybe I can break it.”
The Red Bull driver said, “Naturally,” when asked if he could recall the last time he lost a race. 2022, in Melbourne.
It was probably a fuel leak of some kind. Such accidents are inevitable and draw the team’s attention in greater measure.
You can’t really afford to fail a lot in order to win a world championship. You must succeed, succeed.”
The three-time world champion admitted that as he stood on the top step of the platform, he became a little emotional.
Along with being a lot of fun, working with everyone has been.
Everybody wants to succeed and give it their all, but when you travel the globe so often, you also want to do it with amazing people, and Red Bull provides just that.
Although I’m really proud of what we’ve accomplished, I really hope that it doesn’t end here.
Whether the Dutch driver can follow in the footsteps of Sebastian Vettel, Lewis Hamilton, and Michael Schumacher and become the fourth driver in Formula One history to win a fourth consecutive championship will be interesting to see.
