“A platform that doesn’t make any sense”: Following a terrible 2023 season, F1 pundits delivered a stinging assessment of Guenther Steiner-led Haas.
After their disappointing 2023 season, F1 expert Ben Anderson said that Haas’ lack of investment in the sport’s expanding commercial sector “doesn’t make sense.”
The American squad only managed 12 points from 22 races, which put them last in the Constructors Championship.
They had placed seventh the previous year, but because to a lack of funding and a development strategy, they declined in 2023.
Though Haas has a platform similar to Ferrari’s, Anderson said on The Race podcast that Haas did not fully utilize their partnership, reflecting on their 2023 season:
“You would think that having the fundamental Ferrari architecture will give it a decent platform to exploit, but they haven’t been able to do it.”

Driver for Haas Formula One Nico Hulkenberg stated that the team took advantage of other teams’ flaws in the first few races but was unable to maintain their lead.
The German driver remarked in an interview with Autosport: “Obviously, it was a process, and early in the season, there were signs.”
However, since other individuals were having greater difficulty, we were able to get away with it early in the season.
We only truly began to pay the fine once they cleaned up and made some significant advancements.
“The last part of the season has been quite difficult.
I believe that I only had a chance to pick up a point or two in Singapore, which we lost due to a poor strategic decision.
