His sole goal in life is to win races. – Max Verstappen’s father downplays the possibility that his son could follow in Michael Schumacher’s footsteps.
Jos Verstappen, the father of Max Verstappen, has ruled out the possibility that his son may follow in Michael Schumacher’s footsteps in business.
During his tenure, the German approached the sport in a distinctive way. Every top driver would typically follow the fastest vehicle on the grid and adjust their crews accordingly, as was the custom at the time.
But Michael Schumacher defied this pattern. By 1995, he had already won two world titles.
He chose to go to Ferrari, a team that had not won in more than ten years, rather than any of the fastest vehicles on the grid, and he subsequently created that team from the ground up.
Jos Verstappen was asked a similar question regarding whether Max Verstappen would be willing to spend his time developing a team during a chat with PlanetF1.
Jos made it quite plain in his response when he stated, “He’s only interested in winning races,” firmly rejecting any such idea.Jos continued by saying that Max Verstappen wasn’t at all bored with his level of domination on the field while racing for Red Bull.
“He likes this,” he remarked. utterly enjoys the dominance.
The father of Max Verstappen would like to see his son compete more closely.
Jos Verstappen was very open when discussing the upcoming season and what he would like to see.
He said that although he wants to see Max Verstappen win, he would also love to watch him fight and then win. Max won 19 races this season, but few of them included clashes at the front of the field.
Jos Verstappen discussed his wish list and mentioned that he would really like to watch a battle because the 2021 Formula One season included a lot of them.
He stated (via PlanetF1): “We obviously want to win the races, but I also enjoy watching him battle and eventually escape with the victory, Max has taken dominance to a whole new level in F1 and it will be very interesting to see which driver could get close to him in the coming years.
