Lewis Hamilton is collaborating closely with Mercedes engineers at the factory in order to defeat Max Verstappen the following year.
Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton recently discussed his role in the W15’s development and pledged to encourage and inspire the engineers at the company’s headquarters in Brackley.
Ever since the ground effect regulation were implemented in 2022, the Silver Arrows team has had difficulty. Hamilton is now experiencing his greatest losing stretch, having not secured a victory in the previous two years.
Lewis Hamilton is motivated to help the engineers at the factory and is driven to take on Red Bull and Max Verstappen in the upcoming season. “I’m in the factory much more often now, having meetings with all the department heads to try and motivate and encourage them all. I talk to them, show them where we need to improve and what direction we need to go in. I just try to help them be positive and to say we can do it.”
“I also looked closely at other vehicles and asked a lot of questions just to stimulate ideas.”
A key year in Mercedes’s attempt to challenge Red Bull for the championship will be 2024. The Silver Arrows will need to make progress the following season in order to be in the running for the championship, as the 2026 Formula One season will see significant changes to the regulations.

The seven-time Formula 1 World Champion last stepped onto the podium in the Saudi Arabian Grand Prix in 2021. Since then, the seasoned Mercedes driver has visited the podium numerous times, but he has unable to reach the top step.
Recently, Lewis Hamilton spoke candidly about the motivations that have kept him in Formula 1. The British driver discussed how the bizarre post-race festivities and the podium ceremony provide immense inspiration to aim for a comeback to winning ways with Mercedes.
“It’s the dream of standing on the top step, seeing your team. One of the most amazing things is being able to look back and having the flag of the nation rising behind you, and seeing the team,” he said (via motorsport.com).
He recalled his first victory with Mercedes and a specific podium celebration at the Australian Grand Prix in 2015, he said:
“I remember the first win I had with this team [in Hungary in 2013]. I have a particular picture of 2015 in Australia with the [team] down there in tears – it was just amazing to be a part of that.”
