Steelers battle the elements to beat Ravens and to maintain their hopes of making the playoffs.
Mother Nature chose to play hard on the Pittsburgh Steelers when she visited Baltimore. However, Pittsburgh managed to pull off a huge road victory (17–10) and maintain chances of making the playoffs thanks to a fantastic performance by rushing back Najee Harris and some timely defense.
The constant, bone-chilling rain made for an ugly football match, but Pittsburgh didn’t let it stop them. Mason Rudolph, the quarterback, had an excellent throw yardage of 152, considering the circumstances. However, Harris set the tone early on by carrying the ball 26 times for 112 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Throughout the whole game, the Steelers defense kept the Ravens attack at bay. T.J. Watt, an outside linebacker, solidified his candidacy for defensive player of the year by recording two sacks. The Steelers forced two fumbles, with safety Eric Rowe forcing the first one after being promoted from the practice squad to the starting lineup once more.
The Steelers must now bide their time and hope that one of the three possible playoff scenarios materializes, allowing them to sneak in after winning their tenth game of the year.
