TRANSFER: Former Oklahoma State cornerback D.J. McKinney transfers to Colorado
Colorado football’s now noteworthy protective auxiliary got far and away superior on Sunday night when Oklahoma State move cornerback D.J. McKinney focused on the Buffs.
McKinney had 38 tackles for the Cowboys this past season, including seven against Texas in the Big 12 Championship Game, a career high. The redshirt first year recruit’s Master Football Center pass inclusion grade of 70.2 was likewise second among all OSU guarded backs.
A previous three-star prospect whom Colorado enlisted in secondary school, McKinney is the subsequent cautious back move to land with the Buffs, joining Preston Hodge. Kevin Mathis, the coach of the Colorado cornerbacks, has Travis Hunter, Cormani McClain, Carter Stoutmire, Omarion Cooper, and others joining him again in his position group.
The Buffaloes’ incoming transfer portal class is still ranked second nationally behind Ole Miss, according to 247Sports.
