Mike Tomlin, Steelers HC, optimistic to have Minkah Fitzpatrick vs Bills
Prior to the Pittsburgh Steelers’ playoff game against the Buffalo Bills this week, head coach Mike Tomlin spoke to the media on Tuesday. During his press conference, he shared both positive and negative news. Outside linebacker T.J. Watt was ruled out this week due to a knee ailment, but Tomlin also expressed optimism that safety Minkah Fitzpatrick will return following his own knee surgery.
This season, the Steelers have faced numerous safety-related problems. In addition to Fitzpatrick’s injury, Damontae Kazee was suspended and Keanu Neal is on injured reserve. It appears that Pittsburgh may get Fitzpatrick and Kazee back this week, and it won’t be too soon.
The Steelers have received some strong play in their absence from Patrick Peterson and Eric Rowe. Rowe in particular has been great and could keep Kazee out of the starting lineup this week. The return of Fitzpatrick could also allow Peterson to go back to cornerback.
