Just in; Jimmy Johnson delivers fire-breathing halftime speech the Cowboys probably would’ve been better off to hear
Jimmy Johnson, the head coach of the Dallas Cowboys, made an emotional remark during halftime on national television, aimed at his previous team, the Green Bay Packers, during Super Wild Card Weekend. Don’t tell him it’s not the 1990s anymore.
By halftime, “America’s Team” was trailing Jordan Love 27–7. In the first half, the Packers scored four touchdowns in a row, including a 64-yard pick-six from Dak Prescott to Darnell Savage. Coach Johnson went all out on Fox, seemingly to capitalize on the impression that every Cowboys fan was present at halftime.
“I don’t need to have people pointing the fingers one thing or another,” Johnson stated. “You play the way you know how to play, putting your rear end in there! The game is in our hands! We’re going to pick up the pace and open it up. Go after Jordan Love, defense! That’s not how much time you can give him! If you follow the instructions, we’ll win this game.”
The legendary defensive end for the New York Giants, Michael Strahan, became so enthused that he assumed a three-point stance. Rob Gronkowski, the tight end, joined in and accepted the challenge to block him.
The Cowboys suffered an embarrassing loss in a number of ways. In fact, since the playoffs’ expansion to 14 teams in 2020, this is the first time a No. 7 seed has prevailed.
Last month, Johnson was at last admitted into the Cowboys Ring of Honor. He was the first coach to win both a Super Bowl and a college national championship. It’s also obvious that he is a motivational speaker.
