EXCLUSIVE: Stating the obvious: Deshaun Watson is the Browns’ starting quarterback entering 2024
Given the financial commitment, it should go without saying, but Deshaun Watson will start for the Cleveland Browns in 2024, according to head coach Kevin Stefanski.
Even though Joe Flacco had a great season-ending performance for the Browns, there is no doubt or hesitation about the starting quarterback for the team when the 2024 season begins.
Stefanski also mentioned that Watson’s shoulder fracture recovery is progressing according to schedule. “I’m confident he will be ready to roll this spring,” the head coach continued.
It will be intriguing to observe, though, how much the Browns spend on a backup quarterback and whether Flacco—who has started the final six games of the season—will be that guy.
The way the Browns have assembled their roster, the stability of their coaching team, and the development of their young players will all contribute to their long-term financial success. But Watson’s performance in 2024 and beyond will determine how long the Browns stay in the game.
