Eddie Faulkner and Mike Sullivan are not possibilities for OC, in Mike Tomlin’s opinion.
Tuesday marked the end of the season news conference for Pittsburgh Steelers head coach Mike Tomlin, and it was arguably the most candid and transparent press conference in Tomlin’s 17 years as head coach. He did not hold back when discussing the matter of finding a new offensive coordinator.
It is evident from Tomlin’s comments that he is considering other possibilities and is not considering quarterbacks coach Kevin Sullivan or interim offensive coordinator Eddie Faulkner. After Matt Canada was fired, Faulkner took command, but Sullivan was given charge of playcalling.
Tomlin stated clearly in the press conference that he will concentrate on adding a player that can assist develop a more dynamic attack that can score points and fool defenses. He added that they need to already be an experienced OC and can help push the quarterback position forward.
