Just In: Stump Mitchell says goodbye to Browns as team moves on
Former running backs coach Stump Mitchell said goodbye to his teammates, the city, and the organization following his firing by the Cleveland Browns.
Mitchell expressed his affection for the Browns organization and for each running back he coached in Cleveland in a long farewell:
“I want to express my sincere thanks to the players and running backs who donned the Browns helmet, giving their all to achieve success on Game Day. I devoted my efforts to maximize your hard work and talent, and has been a rewarding journey.”
Mitchell will establish himself as one of the NFL’s most reputable running backs coaches. Nonetheless, the team has excellent reason to search for a new viewpoint when the run game coordinator is unable to establish the run game with two inexperienced backs who occasionally appeared lost.
For the position, the Browns have previously spoken with former running back Duce Staley.
