Breaking: Ex-Cowboys WR Says Micah Parsons is ‘Most Selfish Player’ on Roster
Cowboys wide receiver targets linebacker Micah Parsons. Parsons may be Dallas’ best player since entering the NFL, but Jesse Hawley has criticized the 24-year-old. Holley is a former Cowboys wide receiver who appeared in 28 games during the 2010 and 2011 seasons. Ray caught up with Holly Parsons on the latest episode of Ray’s podcast. While the former curator has no criticism of his art, Parsons believes it’s not just for him.
“I think Micah Parsons is the most selfish player on this football team,” Hawley said. “One of the reasons Micah Parsons doesn’t want to be a backup is because it’s too much responsibility. Maybe because of his youth. Mika doesn’t want to study. Micah doesn’t want to draw attention to it, and I really think Micah just wants to be good to Micah.
These strong comments come after Parsons’ recent battle against the Green Bay Packers. After recording 14 sacks in the regular season, Parsons had no role in the divisional round with one tackle. However, it is not known where Holly came from. He may have inside information on Parsons, but at that moment it feels like someone on the outside looking in. Micah Parsons refuses to give a possible answer.
Anyone who has watched the Cowboys and Parsons over the past few years knows that the pass rusher isn’t afraid to speak his mind. Parsons reacted to the X, but it appears the two-time All-Pro took the high road. “You want an answer from me, but it’s not working!” I’m fine! love!’ Parsons wrote on January 26:
While this isn’t a direct response to Holley’s comments, Parsons is clearly referring to the Cowboys alumni appeal. Parsons has his own podcast, so you may have to wait for the next episode to get the full answer.
And if Parsons is selfish, the Cowboys probably don’t want to trade. Parsons recorded 40.5 sacks in his first three seasons and was again a candidate for first-team All-Pro honors in 2023.
The Cowboys will have to spend money on Parsons.
Whether they decide to pay him this season or next, Parsons’ impact will likely warrant a second big contract. A big contract was expected after two elite seasons combined in 2021 and 2022, but in 2023 it became clear he would receive one of the NFL’s largest contracts.
The Cowboys are currently very interested in Parsons. According to Spotrac, it has cost the Cowboys less than $12 million so far. However, Spotrac estimates that his next deal will be worth around $25.4 million. Pittsburgh Steelers star T.J. Watt’s latest contract will pay him $28 million per year. In any case, the Spotrac rating is probably low. Because it’s hard to imagine that Parsons and his agent David Mulugeta wouldn’t want to beat him. Either way, credit goes to Jerry Jones and the Cowboys.
