Why Aden Holloway, Denver Jones didn’t start for No. 8 Auburn against Mississippi State

Auburn guards Aden Holloway and Denver Jones did not play Saturday afternoon in the Tigers’ game against No. 1 Mississippi State. 8, due to a “violation of team rules,” according to an SEC Network broadcast.

He did not say what actions led to the murder. Coach Bruce Pearl will likely address the issue with the media after the game.

Both players entered the Auburn game after a sub-16 media timeout in the first half. Auburn made no changes to its starting lineup against Alabama A&M on Nov. 21. Neither Jones nor center Johnny Broome played in that game because of “internal” issues, according to coach Bruce Pearl.

Jones is now part of two zone-related changes to Auburn’s starting lineup this season. Holloway has started every game for Auburn since being inserted into the lineup against Notre Dame on Nov. 16. Jones started every game for Auburn except two where he faced team discipline.
