The Browns speaks on Amari Cooper’s future.

The Cleveland Browns have “zero” intentions of signing Amari Cooper and may re-sign him to keep him in the offseason.

There has been some debate regarding Cooper’s future with the Browns. Cleveland is looking for ways to make money, and Cooper will make $23.7 million next season.

However, Cooper is worth investing in as he was traded in 2022. He posted back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons and was recently named to his fifth Pro Bowl.

Pluto tweeted on Sunday, Feb. 4, “Heard from some fans and media that Browns may fire Amari Cooper due to salary issues.” “I checked with top NFL sources and the Browns have no plans to move on from Amari Cooper. That’s zero.”

Amari Cooper is having a great season with the Browns.
Unsurprisingly, Pluto’s report should dispel any thoughts that Cooper won’t be wearing orange and maroon next season.

But the team needs to think about Cooper’s future. He has just over a year left on his contract. An extension would lock up the Browns’ top receiver for a few more years and lower his cap for next season. “Over the years, we’ve seen some divas play receiver for the Browns. “Cooper is like Nick Chubb, respected by his coaches and teammates,” Pluto wrote. “I was told the Browns might not need to re-sign me because of the salary cap. “I will do that if necessary,” he replied.

Cooper led the Browns offense last season despite catching passes from four different quarterbacks. Gained 1,250 yards on 72 catches. Cooper’s standout performance came against the Houston Texans on Christmas Eve. He caught 11 passes for 265 yards, a franchise single-game record.

“Records must be broken. After all, they’re just numbers. I don’t take it for granted, but it’s a thing of the past,” Cooper said on Jan. 10. “I always tell myself that I like to look back on my career in a nostalgic way. It looks like you’re saying that after I finish the game.”

The Browns are looking to add more weapons at wide receiver.

One of the Browns’ priorities this offseason will be getting help from Cooper. Elijah Moore (59 catches, 640 yards) and tight end David Njoku (81 catches, 882 yards) contributed well. However, Cleveland could use a risky second option on Cooper, which is what they will be looking for this season.

“I think it’s Andrew’s desire to bring in as many good players as possible,” Browns coach Kevin Stefanski said of the idea of expanding the arsenal on Jan. 14. “But I feel very good about the players we have in the team. I won’t mention them all. But I’m very happy with what these guys have accomplished. Amari (Cooper), Dave (Njoku), Elijah (Moore), they all seem to have had similar moments in their careers and I’m proud of them.

Wide receiver options the Browns could overlook include Ty Higgins, Mike Evans and Calvin Ridley. It will depend on how much cap space the Browns can free up this offseason.
