Coach Deion Sanders fires back at Marlon Humphrey’s Bill Belichick disrespect
Following Humphrey’s criticism of Belichick for failing to obtain a head coaching position this offseason following his split with the New England Patriots, the football coach from Colorado offered his thoughts:
“The ‘greatest coach of all time’ was not hired from six open head coaching positions,” Humphrey said. “I think the controversy can calm down now,” he said.
After seeing this, Dion Sanders responded, “God, help our young people understand the definition of respect.”
Of course, Coach Prime is not above criticizing others. Last week, Sanders expressed concern about the quality of the Colorado football roster he inherited before last season. “The election was so terrible that it had to be changed,” Sanders said. “I inherited the remains of a bull. So we circled. Now we have what we need and not just corpses wandering aimlessly.”
When Sanders first landed in Boulder, he was criticized for “kicking players out of the program.” He arrived with new baggage and challenged the Colorado football team to show every one of them why they made the roster.
The Buffaloes only have four top recruits on their active roster, making it a difficult situation for Sanders and his staff. Who knows if this will be the last meeting between Sanders and Humphrey? Coach Belichick won’t appear on an NFL field this season, but commissioner Roger Goodell said he expects him to stay in the game.
