Georgia Bulldogs Announces Replacement for Scott Cochran Following Resignation

Two Georgia Bulldog employees have left the team. Here’s the latest information on the Georgia Bulldogs roster.

One of the most important parts of the football team is special teams coordinator and Georgia Bulldogs had Scott Cochran. Dawgs Daily has confirm that Scott Cochran has resigned from the team due to personal issues, as first reported by UGAsports.com.

Cochran has worked with Kirby Smart for a long time, but it wasn’t until the 2020 season that he brought him to Athens when he was named special teams coordinator. Prior to that, his former coaching student was the strength and conditioning coach for the Alabama Crimson Tide for 13 seasons.

The Georgia Bulldogs lost two coaches this week when news broke that special teams coordinator Scott Cochran and offensive analyst Darrell Dickey had resigned.

According to a statement released by the University of Georgia, special teams analyst Kirk Benedict will be promoted to special teams coordinator for the 2024 season, and Dickey’s replacement has not yet been announced.

Dickey recently joined the Bulldogs as a full-time member for the 2023 season, while Cochran has been an integral member of the Bulldogs staff since 2020. He also previously worked with Bulldogs head coach Kirby Smart during his time at Alabama. In response to the news, Smart released a statement wishing the pair good luck in their future endeavors.

However, key elements of the Bulldogs’ 2024 roster and coaching staff remain intact. The loss of Cochran and Dickey’s sports experience and knowledge will certainly be felt at some point during the Bulldogs’ 2024 season.
