Jahkeem Stewart, nation’s No. 1 prospect, trims list
Jahkeem Stewart, a five-star defensive lineman for St. Augustine (Louisiana), reduced his list on Tuesday.
Jahkeem Stewart, a five-star defensive lineman from St. Augustine (Louisiana), has already established himself as one of the finest in the country, even if the 2026 recruiting cycle is still very early.
The 6’6″, 270-pound defender, known by his nickname “Thanos” after the Marvel supervillain, is already a formidable opponent.
Maybe that’s why, even though he will be about two years away from being eligible to sign a National Letter of Intent, he has had offers from the majority of the nation’s best institutions.
By reducing the number of suitors on his list of offers to 15, which included Alabama, Auburn, Colorado, Florida State, Georgia, LSU, Miami, Michigan, Ohio State, Oregon, Penn State, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, and USC, Stewart made a big progress in his recruiting process on Tuesday.
The inclusion of the five-star prospect is hardly surprising considering he has already visited USC, LSU, Texas, Florida, Georgia, Alabama, and other schools.
What will Stewart’s squad ultimately receive?
He racked up 20 sacks, 33 tackles for loss, and 83 tackles as a sophomore.
In their scouting report, 247Sports said the following about Stewart:
“Large-framed front-line defensive prospect with rare physical traits relative to his age. Several excellent camp performances put him on the radar very early. Simply needs more reps in pads but they will come, and has flashed explosive disruptiveness in early game exposure.
Excellent height with plus length and a relatively lean build on a frame with immense bulking capacity. Better flexibility and bend than you might expect. Flashes hand violence and point-of-attack power. Capable of dip-and-bend ability from the edge with size and strength to play the interior.
Still developing pass-rush repertoire but has shown encouraging technical nuance and feel for his age. Elite young defensive line prospect given outstanding physical tools and promising movement ability. Possesses exceptionally high long-term developmental ceiling.”
