Exclusive; Kirk Cousins told to snub NFL free agency and re-sign with Minnesota Vikings

The Minnesota Vikings have advised Kirk Cousins to reject NFL free agency and sign a new contract with their team.

According to Robert Griffin III, Kirk Cousins should renew his contract with the Minnesota Vikings as he is due to become a free agent at the end of this season. The two were formerly teammates in Washington.

As he approaches free agency, Kirk Cousins boasts four Pro Bowl appearances under his belt.

The Minnesota Vikings have advised Kirk Cousins to remain with the team despite doubts about what lies ahead for him.

Playing for the Vikings, Cousins has proven to be in top-notch form. The team is deemed as a Super Bowl front-runner among those that require an exceptional quarterback.

During the 2023 season, Cousins exhibited a dazzling performance in eight games by amassing 2,331 yards and delivering an impressive tally of 18 touchdowns with only five interceptions. His exceptional form has been widely regarded as his peak achievement to date.

In addition to enduring a late-season Achilles injury, the 35-year-old athlete is now an unrestricted free agent. There are speculations about multiple teams showing interest in Cousins, but considering standout receiver Justin Jefferson’s rookie contract coming to its end soon, the Vikings may also attempt cost-cutting measures.

With Cousins’ deadline looming, Robert Griffin III – Cousins’ ex-teammate from Washington- reveals that joining Minnesota offers the most promising opportunity for acquiring an esteemed Super Bowl championship ring.

In a social media video, Griffin expressed his thoughts unequivocally and vociferously regarding free agency. He asserted that he knew the ideal destination for Kirk Cousins: Minnesota – where he has spent the past six years and the best-suited location for Kirko Chains.

Although many teams require a quarterback, only a small number are in closer proximity to winning a Super Bowl than the Minnesota Vikings. It’s crucial to understand that I am not stating that the Minnesota Vikings are near triumphing the championship; rather, very few QB-needing teams come close to achieving this success compared with the Vikings.

In 2017, Kirk Cousins joined the Minnesota Vikings team following a five-year stint with the Washington Redskins.

To my understanding, Minnesota is where Kirk Cousins’ heart lies. At 35 years old, he no longer has ample time to continue playing a game that he dearly adores. Not only does Kirko Chains have knowledge of the system, team members and location – but prior to his Achilles injury last year, he was excelling in his career as never before observed.

Griffin’s final thought was that Kirk Cousins and the Vikings need to figure out how to make their partnership successful. Moving to another location with a different team and coach, even if it means more income, may not be worthwhile at this stage of his professional journey. Griffin suggests they enjoy their current status quo while cheering “SKOL.”

Perhaps Cousins’ wish of retiring as a Viking will be realized, considering he has already expressed this desire. Griffin’s stance on the matter only reinforces his conviction that sticking with the Vikings would be advantageous for Cousins since he is familiar with both their coaches and playbook.
