Jon Rahm shows his disappointment with Tiger Woods: He’s too busy to talk to me
The Spanish golfer spoke to ESPN about his transition to LIV Golf and the responses he received from fellow golfers. Jon Rahm disclosed that since announcing his move, he hasn’t had any communication with Tiger Woods, whereas he did inform Rory McIlroy and Woods about his decision. Rahm noted that McIlroy has publicly and privately supported his choice, whereas Woods didn’t show much support, attributing it to Woods being occupied.
Rahm also elaborated on what prompted his decision to join LIV Golf, citing a shift in his mindset when the PGA Tour and the Public Investment Fund discussed potential collaboration, which made him reconsider his initial reservations. He acknowledged that he owed it to himself as a professional athlete to explore other possibilities.
Regarding the compensation and time factor, Rahm emphasized the evolving landscape in golf and how it influenced his decision positively, allowing him to continue playing the sport he loves while having more flexibility.
