Talor Gooch faced backlash from Golf Twitter for suggesting that the Masters needed an asterisk because he was not included.

As another significant season approaches, the familiar complaining resurfaces. The former LIV members who are exhausted from their wealth and performances in front of small crowds yearn for invitations to golf’s most prominent events but unfortunately many remain uninvited yet again. This includes Talor Gooch, winner of 2023 LIV Golf individual championship, who expressed disappointment on Tuesday about being excluded from the 2024 Masters tournament.

According to Daniel Rapaport of Barstool Sports, the significance of golf’s most esteemed event – and perhaps even all sports – will be diminished if Talor Gooch does not participate. This realization is accentuated by the emphasis placed on “Gooch” in the statement.

Golf Twitter can be quite inhospitable, even on days when your hair looks good. However, if you decide to criticize Augusta National Golf Club, make sure you have a strong argument or else the consequences will not be pleasant; this is particularly true for those who once benefited from oil money but now refuse to acknowledge it.

When Gooch made an asterisk comment about them, they quickly and mercilessly responded with a tough yet accurate retort that provided hilarious entertainment during Tuesday afternoon scrolling sessions. If you’re one of Gooch’s followers reading their response as well then get ready to feel disappointed!

@DataGolf adopted an analytical approach and extends congratulations to PGA Champion Brooks Koepka for obtaining his new Gooch certification.

@NoLayingUp also did the same.

Although the claim was highlighted as hypocritical by @KylePorterCBS.

Jamie C. Weir noted that there was a possible route for Liverpool players to participate in the Masters, but Talor Gooch failed to seize this opportunity.

However, some of us are satisfied with just “taking the piss,” as our British friends might put it.

It’s up to you how you want to react regarding this matter. Whether or not you believe that LIV Golf players deserve OWGR points like their PGA Tour counterparts is entirely subjective.

Nevertheless, it cannot be denied that what happened was a remarkable cooking session – marinated for an entire night and smoked for 12 hours straight until the dish reached perfection. It’s safe to say that we can all agree on the quality of food served here!
