Maria Sharapova spent over $20 million in an attempt to catch Tiger’s eye, truly showcasing her beauty.

Max Eisenbud, the sports agent, disclosed that Maria Sharapova fashioned her brand strategy after Tiger Woods.

Sharapova has been coached by Eisenbud since the age of 12.

Additionally, they have provided guidance to fellow tennis professionals such as Li Na and most recently, Emma Raducanu.

On the “Served with Andy Roddick” podcast, Eisenbud discussed how high-profile athletes carry a responsibility when it comes to their commercial obligations.

According to the agent, Tiger Woods allocated just three weeks annually towards fulfilling sponsorship obligations.

I had a colleague named Mark Steinberg who worked on the 13th floor. I spent considerable time with him trying to figure out how Tiger managed to secure so many deals.

He stated that the crucial factor is to find a way of boosting one’s income while also achieving victory.

According to Eisenbud, Tiger’s preference is to devote entire weeks for his photo shoots. Therefore, he schedules five separate shoots each week for three consecutive weeks.

Maria Sharapova’s agent stated that she adhered to comparable guidelines in her itinerary by allocating a mere 16 days annually for sponsor appearances.

She prioritized capturing her image without compromising her agenda, even if it meant sacrificing significant amounts of money.

Essentially, we determined that there are sixteen days within a year which would not impede her path to becoming an exceptional tennis player.

“We could’ve added four or five more days and she would have earned an extra $20 million, but we stayed loyal,” stated Eisenbud.

He remembered that Sharapova had gained numerous sponsors following her exceptional win at Wimbledon in 2004 when she was only 17, during the same event.

It seems that Maria Sharapova gained a substantial number of sponsorship deals following her victories, and she continued to win even afterwards.

According to Eisenbud, she was victorious in the Year-end championships during that specific year which happened to be 2004. Additionally, he noted that by this time she had already reached Top 5 status and went on to capture her second Grand Slam title at the US Open two years later in 2006.

“Credit goes to Yuri for not demanding more and instead implementing that strategy.”

“I must give credit to Maria for joining in. During the past 16 days, Emma and Li Na were with me,” he included.
