Charlie Woods received a life message from Tiger Woods, indicating that the two will never be friends with each other.

On “Another Golf Podcast,” Tiger Woods shared additional details about his bond with son Charlie Woods.

On “Another Golf Podcast” hosted by Adam Rehberg and Emilia Migliaccio, Tiger Woods shared the life lessons that his father imparted to him in the past. These teachings are now being applied by Tiger to his 15-year-old son Charlie Woods.

Woods discussed the strategy of understanding Charlie’s perspective in order to assist him with advancing on the golf course.

In their initial interview together, Charlie disclosed that Tiger is an absent-minded caddy.

In 2023, the Golf PNC Championship yielded its results and scores. Additionally, during the tournament’s putting woes, Tiger Woods’ son Charlie had an amusing reaction.

During the podcast backed by Bridgestone Golf, the discussion extended to various subjects as elaborated on extensively by the 15-time Major winner. However, a particularly intriguing topic centered around his association with Charlie.

Woods clarifies that while he may never become his friend, he will always fulfill the role of being his father.

This is what Woods stated:

A while back, I imparted to him a valuable lesson passed down by my father. It goes like this: “Although we can be amiable towards each other always, you will never simply become a pal of mine; instead, you will remain as my paternal figure. For that reason,” I continued with honesty in mind, “I bear the duty to provide guidance and encouragement during times designed for personal growth and affluence–to lead decisively on life’s path even without your presence.” That is what it means when one holds the title ‘Dad.’

“I told him not to refer me as his friend since I’m actually his father. Instead, he can call me Pops. Although it’s alright if he addresses me with other names, I want him to recognize my role and responsibility as a parent. My own dad was quite amiable towards me but before anything else, he was still my father.”

The PNC Championship Commences with Tiger Woods and His Son Charlie.

In addition, Woods discussed safeguarding Charlie and avoiding undue influence on his potential future profession in the PGA Tour.

He desires Charlie to relish golf exclusively, and the media should refrain from drawing comparisons.

“When we go out, Charlie is my companion but as his dad, it’s my duty to protect him.”

It’s clear that I want him to give his all and gain knowledge from any experience, yet shield him from the surrounding circumstances. Nowadays there are camera phones and recordings; when I was younger this wasn’t present. So instead of shying away, my goal is to safeguard his enjoyment while allowing him to partake in activities freely like a typical child would do.

The initial time he performed at PNC, he was merely an 11-year-old and in the sixth grade. Currently being in eighth grade, although still a youngster, we should allow him to relish his experience.

“Do not make comparisons between him and me. He is his own person, Charlie; he will chart his distinct path in life regardless of the direction it takes. As a father, I feel proud to provide this nurturing environment for my child’s growth. All I ask is that he does whatever makes him happy and excel at it.”
