Tiger Woods is setting new records at the Seminole Professional Championship,
Brad Faxon reported that at the Seminole Pro-Member Championship, Tiger Woods exhibited outstanding play throughout the weekend. While not officially part of a tournament field, he participated in matches and successfully impressed spectators with his skills. According to Faxon’s assessment, Woods delivered an unforgettable performance for all in attendance.
Round one of The Genesis Invitational
According to Brad Faxon, Tiger Woods is doing exceptionally well at the Seminole Pro-Member Championship.
Everyone who watched his game at Seminole yesterday commented on how he perfectly hit the ball straight down the center of the golf course.
On the par-5 15th, he utilized a five wood and sent it soaring for approximately 256 yards. The shot came to rest just one inch from the hole, allowing him to effortlessly tap-in an eagle.
People were amazed to watch him play and he chose to walk the course despite having the option of taking a cart.
According to Faxon,
Faxon, who used to be a professional golfer on the PGA Tour like Woods, acknowledged his excellent performance but pointed out something worth mentioning. He observed that despite being given the option of using a cart, which is common among players at such high-level tournaments, aka “tour carts”, Woods preferred walking through every course he played in during this match as well.
It holds importance as Woods is currently in the process of recovering from an ankle surgery and previously had difficulty walking on any course. However, after a six-month recovery period, he has resumed playing golf without relying on a cart which indicates significant progress.
Woods is gearing up for his next tour appearance, which will most probably be at the PLAYERS Championship. In the past, he has set a goal of playing once every month and singled out Genesis – from where he withdrew due to an illness- as well as the PLAYERS tournament.
In just over a week, the upcoming PLAYERS Championship will mark Woods’ sole appearance in March. This timeframe also allots him roughly one month to recuperate and prepare for his possible showing at the Masters.
As part of his monthly appearance schedule, he included every major championship. Tiger Woods’ recovery has not been a straightforward process. He underwent surgery after withdrawing from the Masters in 2023 and six months later began practicing before eventually competing in both the Hero World Challenge and PNC Championship.
Tiger Woods is planning to participate in the upcoming PLAYERS tournament.
After a nine-month hiatus, he finally returned to the field for the Genesis Invitational. However, his joy was short-lived as illness forced him to withdraw from the tournament. This setback shattered all hopes and efforts of making a comeback. To his disclosure via PGA Tour website, returning hasn’t always been smooth sailing for him.
“Do I experience it physically? Without a doubt, every single day. This is due to the surgeries and rehabilitation required… Managing bodily sensations, getting ready for events, and dealing with aging have proven to be both daunting tasks as well as ongoing hurdles.”
At 48 years old, Woods faces the additional challenge of managing both his sport’s demands and his personal health.
Despite the challenges, he has reached this stage and is striving for complete engagement on March 14th when the PLAYERS tournament begins.
