Press Release; Colorado’s 2024 Pro Day postponed until March 19
Due to the weather in Boulder, the Buffs relocated their meeting with NFL representatives.
On Tuesday, an announcement was made that the Colorado Football team has rescheduled its Pro Day for March 19, 2024.
Initially set for March 14th, the event was rescheduled to a later date due to an upcoming winter storm. The Boulder region is bracing itself for heavy snowfall of about 18 inches with gusting winds up to approximately 35 mph which is estimated until early Thursday and may cause travel inconvenience.
The impact on the number of NFL scouts who can attend remains uncertain. Colorado will join Toledo and Wyoming as the only schools hosting a Pro Day next Tuesday, with ten former Buffs scheduled to participate in drills. Among them is Blake Stenstrom, who transferred to Princeton in 2020 but was recognized for his exceptional performance two years prior by earning All-Ivy League honors.
The remaining players on the team were part of Coach Prime’s first wave in the transfer portal, which occurred last year. Tajih Alston had a successful career at both West Virginia and Colorado, contributing to his impressive statistics by accruing five tackles for loss and 2.5 sacks this season as a defensive end.
Splitting his time between Georgia Tech, Arkansas, and Colorado – linebacker Jordan Domineck was deemed as a player that Deion Sanders wished he could have for an additional year. With impressive stats on the field; 187 total tackles (39 loss), 21.5 sacks, seven forced fumbles, five fumble recoveries, four quarterback hurries and five pass breakups – it’s no wonder why he made such an impression. Dominek also plays alongside fellow defenders Derrick McLendon Juwan Mitchell Leonard Payne Jr., Rodrick Ward and Noah Young who together make quite the force to be reckoned with defensively speaking.
When it comes to the offense, Javon Antonio and Kavosiey Smoke will showcase their skills in front of NFL scouts. Despite being overlooked among this year’s CU prospects, they are both highly talented. In a game against Arizona State, Antonio made his mark with five catches for 81 yards and a touchdown. His crucial 43-yard reception from Shedeur Sanders helped set up the winning field goal.
Despite being vocal about his experience in Boulder, Smoke is eager to prove himself and make a statement. During his stint at Colorado as a transfer from Kentucky, he primarily contributed on special teams across ten games.
Due to weather conditions, the change in schedule will allow Coach Prime to attend. Otherwise, he would have been occupied with his book tour this week and it was improbable for him to make a hasty journey back to Boulder while en route from New Jersey to Atlanta.
