The Cleveland Browns Are Bringing In A Huge Rugby Star For A Visit And Could Sign Him To The Roster
Reports gathered revealed that the Cleveland Browns plan to host a prominent rugby athlete for evaluation and potential inclusion on their team.
In 2024, the Cleveland Browns had an exceptional offseason highlighted by a shrewd move in acquiring underrated Denver Broncos wide receiver Jerry Jeudy via trade. With multiple new additions to their roster, the team’s potential is sky-high and may even attract a prominent national player to join them.

According to a report by Rob Maaddi on X, it was revealed that Welsh rugby sensation Louis Rees-Zammit will be visiting the Cleveland Browns. Additionally, Maaddi mentioned that the New York Jets are also interested in bringing him onboard for a visit.
At 23 years old, Rees-Zammit is a prominent Welsh rugby player who recently decided to give the NFL a shot and temporarily sideline his career in rugby.
Rees-Zammit joined the NFL’s International Player Pathway Program back in January and recently underwent his pro day, where he was evaluated by scouts from various NFL teams.
Bringing in Rees-Zammit for a visit is quite intriguing, considering his aptitude as a running back, wide receiver and returner.
There’s simply no time for the Cleveland Browns to turn Rees-Zammit into a star.
If the Cleveland Browns were to sign Rees-Zammit, it’s probable that he would attend camp primarily as a special teams player with potential for becoming either a running back or wide receiver. However, the team cannot afford to invest too much time in developing unproven talents.
The Browns’ current team was assembled with the intention of achieving immediate success, so they cannot afford to utilize a roster spot on an individual who isn’t yet prepared to participate in games. Doing so could potentially deprive another player, capable of contributing right away, from that opportunity.
