Breaking: Charlie Woods is playing at the 2024 Will Lowery Junior Championship this week, with his father Tiger Woods.
Charlie is set to make his first appearance at the American Junior Golf Association amidst a crowd so massive that security personnel and armed police officers have been enlisted for his protection. Joining him will be an array of professionals ready to ensure that all goes smoothly during this highly anticipated event.
In an attempt to qualify for the Cognizant Classic last month, Charlie Woods faced a hindrance in his run due to the overwhelming number of fans surrounding the aspiring golfer.
Fans trailed alongside Charlie Woods, hoping for autographs and unintentionally obstructing his play. The disruptions likely contributed to his subpar score of 86. In an effort to prevent a recurrence of this issue, reports indicate that police officers stationed at the entrance are thoroughly screening visitors before allowing them entry in order to mitigate any overcrowding caused by Woods’ immense popularity.
Charlie Woods, the son of Tiger Woods, has been granted a sponsor’s exemption for his AJGA debut at the Will Lowery Junior Championship.
Playing in his inaugural American Junior Golf Association event, Charlie Woods will be amongst a group of young golfers aged between 12 and 19. The three-day tournament consisting of fifty-four holes is scheduled to take place at Carolina Trace Country Club located in Sanford, North Carolina.
The tournament’s schedule is as follows:
On Friday, March 22nd, the first round tee times will begin at both Nos.1 and 10 tees from 8am to 10am.
On Saturday, March 23rd, the second round tee times will begin at 8-10 a.m. from tees one and ten.
Tee times for the final round on Sunday, March 24th will be from both Nos. 1 and 10 tees starting at 8 a.m. until 10 a.m.
Accompanying Charlie was his father, Tiger Woods, who has been the youngster’s greatest backer. At the Notah Begay III tournament, Tiger caddied for Charlie and even teamed up with him at PNC Championship. Currently on a comeback trail after pulling out of Genesis Invitational earlier this year, Tiger is set to feature in next month’s Augusta National Golf Course contest as he finds mention in 2024 Masters list.
