Will Georgia Have a 1,000-yard Rusher in 2024?

Will Georgia Have a 1,000-yard Rusher in 2024?

Over the last few decades, the Georgia Bulldogs have earned a reputation for their exceptional running game and talented running backs. However, despite maintaining a strong pool of runners on their team, they’ve gone almost five seasons without producing a 1,000-yard rusher.

D’andre Swift was the most recent running back to surpass 1,000 rushing yards by achieving an impressive total of 1,218 during the 2019 season. Despite several other runners coming within reach since then, none have yet succeeded in reaching this milestone.

Although this trend may be concerning for some, it is justified as the Bulldogs passing game has witnessed a remarkable surge with exceptional receivers like Ladd McConkey and Brock Bowers. Furthermore, the Dawgs have adopted a “by committee” approach to running which involves multiple backs sharing carries during games.

In 2024, the Georgia offense could see new opportunities arise with an influx of fresh talent in their running back room. Additionally, changes to the Bulldogs’ roster have resulted in many skilled receivers departing for the NFL. These adjustments may prompt a slight shift in offensive strategy for Georgia.

The abundant talent in the Bulldogs’ 2024 roster presents Kirby Smart and his team with an opportunity to reconsider their offensive strategy. Although it remains uncertain whether a 1,000-yard rusher will emerge from this group of athletes, there is no doubt that such potential exists within the team’s ranks.

QB Jared Curtis Signs NIL Deal After Commitment to Georgia Football ahead of 2026

The Bulldog community received news of their initial commitment for the 2026 recruiting class when quarterback Jared Curtis pledged his allegiance to Georgia this past weekend. Despite being a high school junior, Curtis has already inked his first NIL agreement after committing.

Leaf Trading Cards has unveiled a signed player card featuring Curtis. Fans can purchase the item for $79.99 on Leaf Trading Cards’ website.

2025 quarterback Julian Lewis has also secured a deal for his own card, proving that Curtis isn’t the sole highly-publicized high school recruit on board with the company.

Curtis is eligible for an early start with NIL due to his participation in high school football within Tennessee. In December of 2023, the Tennessee Secondary School Athletic Association adopted this practice which has been followed by other associations as well. This policy enables student-athletes to finalize their NIL agreements prior to joining college.

According to 247sports composite rankings, Curtis holds the top spot for both quarterback and player in Tennessee as well as being ranked ninth among players nationwide.

Despite negative news for the Bulldogs on the recruiting front, with defensive lineman Justus Terry de-committing from Georgia to join USC over the weekend, quarterback’s commitment remained steadfast. Additionally, Isaiah Gibson – another target of interest for Georgia in 2025 – also chose to commit to USC this past weekend.

  1. You really make it seem so easy with your presentation but I find this topic to be really something which I think I would never understand. It seems too complex and very broad for me. I am looking forward for your next post, I抣l try to get the hang of it!
