Breaking; Bills Coach’s Daughter’s Tweet on Stefon Diggs Trade Turns Heads
For the past two years, there has been noticeable dissatisfaction between wide receiver Stefon Diggs and the Buffalo Bills. Although rumors of a trade involving Diggs have circulated, it appeared unlikely to happen financially until after the 2024 NFL season.
If the Bills cut or traded Diggs before June 1, they would incur a loss of more than $31 million. However, if such an action were taken after 2024 it would result in a cap hit of $8.8 million for 2025 and $13.39 million for 2026 yielding savings amounting to approximately $18.5 million limited only to year ending on December thirty-first (31st), two thousand twenty-five(2025).
The news of the Bills trading Diggs to the Houston Texans on April 3, which was originally reported by ESPN’s Adam Shefter, came as a surprise. The staggering amount of $31 million had to be taken care of alongside giving away a 2024 sixth-round and a 2025 fifth-round pick by Buffalo while they received only one second-rounder in return from Houston.
As Bills Mafia processed the information, Brooke Kromer – daughter of Aaron Kromer, the team’s offensive line coach – sent a message on X (previously known as Twitter) which sparked some intrigue.
Kromer posted, “Trust the process. There is always a reason and a plan! Good riddance✌🏼.”
There are rumors circulating as to why Buffalo decided to part ways with Diggs, possibly stemming from the financial loss incurred. Kromer’s statement has only added fuel to this speculation. A concerned fan posted on social media questioning whether the coach’s daughter would have tweeted about it if there had been no internal issues behind the scenes – implying that she must know something about what really happened.
A female individual stated, “She possesses adequate connection with the team to be aware! It was a necessary decision that benefits everyone. Though it took some time for the initial reaction to subside 😵💫 #trusttheprocess.” Moreover, another supporter commented by saying, “It’s intriguing coming from someone who is related to a coach’s genealogy. However, without question this action had to transpire.”
“This speaks volumes to Diggs’ character in the locker room,” said a man. “I used to think that the media was exaggerating, but after hearing this, my perspective has changed.”
Stefon Diggs’ Behavior & Cryptic Tweets Raised Suspicion Over a Rift With the Bills
There were numerous warning signs indicating a potential issue between Diggs and the Bills. In November of 2022, he voiced his concern with a lack of targets, prompting head coach Sean McDermott to intervene and soothe tensions. Additionally, during the AFC Divisional playoff loss in 2023, Diggs’ outburst towards quarterback Josh Allen caught many off guard.
After the loss, Diggs hastily left the locker room. In a subsequent press conference, Allen commented on the incident: “Diggs is an intense competitor who desires to receive passes. We need to understand what went wrong and how we can improve.” The team frequently relied upon their four-time Pro Bowler’s competitive drive as justification for difficult circumstances.
Last year before mandatory minicamp, the Bills failed to provide a clear explanation for what triggered Diggs’ blowout. Additionally, with Trevon Diggs – who is an accomplished player of Dallas Cowboys and also his younger brother- demanding that the receiver be traded while making negative comments about Allen on social media made it difficult to believe everything was fine between them.
In February, Diggs assured Kay Adams that he had repeatedly expressed his desire to retire as a member of the Bills in interviews with the media. However, circumstances evidently altered. On March 15th, Diggs wrote on social media “Ready for watever,” which although it is not unusual for him to issue unclear messages this time around signified that he was serious about making a change.
The latest Bills news suggests that in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft, it is crucial for Buffalo to select a wide receiver.
After the season ended, Bills’ general manager Brandon Beane spoke to reporters and reiterated his commitment to Diggs being Allen’s primary target in 2024. “Stef is undoubtedly a No.1 receiver; my belief has not faltered,” said Beane. However, it seems that Diggs did not have as significant of a role in the second half of the season, contradicting this statement.
Due to Gabe Davis leaving, it was anticipated that the Bills would choose a wide receiver in the upcoming 2024 NFL draft. However, since they acquired Curtis Samuel for $24 million over three years and enlisted Mack Hollins, choosing a safety or defensive end as their No.28 overall pick wouldn’t be unexpected anymore.
Due to the absence of Diggs, Trent Sherfield and Deonte Harty alongside the remarkably exceptional caliber of wide receiver prowess evident in this year’s draft, it is probable that Bills general manager Brandon Beane will seek opportunities for a trade-up.
Samuel, Khalil Shakir and tight end Dalton Kincaid are the prime candidates on Allen’s list. Adding a deep-threat wide receiver through the draft is essential now. When he appeared on “The QB Room” podcast recently, Allen discussed his favorite receivers in the 2024 draft class.
“Malik Nabers, Rome Odunze, and Marvin Harrison Jr. are the three best prospects,” Allen stated, adding that Brian Thomas, Adonai Mitchell Keon Coleman, Troy Franklin Xavier Worthy and Xavier Legette fall into a second tier of talent.”
