Breaking; ‘We’re Coming For That Green Jacket’ – Jon Rahm, Brooks Koepka, And Sergio Garcia Backing LIV Golfer To Win The Masters
Next week, 13 LIV Golf players will be teeing up at Augusta National Golf Club with high levels of confidence.
Sergio Garcia of LIV Golf issued a bold statement to the bulk of The Masters competitors as they prepare for next week’s event at Augusta National Golf Club.
Upon receiving an invitation from Joaquin Niemann’s committee, two DP World Tour players and a total of 13 LIV Golf League members are making their way to Georgia with the goal of leaving their mark in the annals of sports history.
Among the participants in the 54-hole circuit, seven players who have previously won The Masters are Jon Rahm, Bubba Watson, Dustin Johnson, Phil Mickelson, Charl Schwartzel Patrick Reed and Garcia. Additionally,Cameron Smith and Brooks Koepka have been close competitors on recent Sundays but unfortunately missed out on victory by a narrow margin.
Garcia posted a photo of all 13 members, including Bryson DeChambeau, Adrian Meronk and Tyrrell Hatton – ready to hit the ball at LIV Golf Miami this week. With an impressive lineup of players looking to achieve success in 2024, Garcia stated their intentions with “We’re gunning for that green jacket @TheMasters,” as they plan on playing there over the coming days.
Not only the 2017 Masters champion, but Koepka and Rahm also expressed their optimism about PIF-backed circuit’s prospects for this year in their pre-LIV Miami press conferences. All three LIV golfers are feeling bullish.
Koepka expressed that the odds are in his favor considering numerous talented players participate. He approximated about 90 guys usually forming a field, which gives him roughly a 15 percent chance to win.
“If we analyze the numbers and exclude amateur players and first-time winners, I would estimate that it shrinks down to around 70.”
I am confident in our chances. There are several players performing exceptionally well, including Joaco who has been impressive this year. I also observed Bryson’s game last year, and we even played together at Singapore and Thailand tournaments which allowed me to track his progress over the past eight months or so.”
“I’ve been witnessing that progress, which has been pretty cool. I can sense he’s about to take off soon. Then, out of the blue, things started falling into place until March – and now it feels like my time.”
Rahm, the current Masters champion, contended that LIV’s prospects of producing a winner were aided by both the abundance and caliber of players participating in the event.
He stated that although the number of major champions in LIV may not be plentiful, there are several golfers who possess the qualities of a major champion. With this in mind, he feels confident that one of them will emerge victorious this year.
Golf Monthly will cover all of the significant events during The Masters, which starts on Thursday, April 11.
