Breaking; NFL allows teams to add a third alternate helmet for 2025 season
On Wednesday, the NFL informed teams via a memo that their already expanded uniform policy would be further extended.
The league stated in 2022 that teams are allowed to use a second alternate helmet.
A third alternative helmet has been included in the rotation, as per the recent announcement by NFL. It states that teams will have permission to wear a third alternate helmet starting 2025.
While some teams in the league are currently undergoing redesigns ahead of the 2024 season, this does not apply to the Buffalo Bills. However, there may come a day when they too undergo changes.
Tom Pelissero of NFL Network shared the rules stated in the memo.
Furthermore, the memorandum specifies that squads may combine their third helmet shell with alternate, classic, and/or color rush attire while creating these novel variations. It also states that each alternative colored helmet ought to be linked to a particular optional uniform and should not be interchanged or matched with first-string uniforms or other discretionary clothing items.
There are those who have expressed a desire for the Bills to return to their 90s glory by bringing back their previous uniforms, including the iconic red helmet.
Buffalo’s latest throwback attire is none other than a buffalo itself. In the past, the Bills have reintroduced their classic white jerseys and helmets featuring the iconic “standing Buffalo” design.
Moreover, while practicing at the training camp, quarterback Josh Allen has sported a personalized blue helmet just for amusement. He had previously done something alike with a red headgear too.
Let’s wait and observe whether the Bills take advantage of the opportunity presented by the new rule.
