At 76, OJ Simpson has passed away, marking the end of an era for one of history’s most polarizing figures. His family made the announcement on Thursday.

Simpson’s notoriety skyrocketed as a result of his accomplishments in football, broadcasting, and film. However, everything took an unexpected turn in 1994 when he was embroiled in the most notorious legal case of its time: the “trial of the century.” Despite being charged with killing his ex-wife Nicole Brown Simpson and her acquaintance Ron Goldman, Simpson managed to secure an acquittal. This event marked a significant shift for him.

However, the ascent of Simpson in his earlier days was connected to the Buffalo Bills.

Simpson was chosen as the top pick in the NFL draft by the Bills in 1969. Throughout his career, he achieved five first-team All-Pro recognitions. Furthermore, Simpson accomplished a unique feat during the 1973 season when he became the sole player to surpass over 2,000 rushing yards within just fourteen games.
