Von Miller, the Bills’ EDGE player, creates a buzz with his post forecasting an NFL draft trade.
Would it be of interest to the Broncos if they had a chance at reuniting with Von Miller in case he is released from his contract by the Bills?
Von Miller is keen on witnessing the Buffalo Bills make significant strides at the NFL Draft.
On April 12, the Pro Bowl edge rusher shared a meme video on Instagram showing general manager Brandon Beane energetically walking onto stage and pumping his fists. Accompanying the clip was a prediction from Miller stating that he believes their team will acquire another wide receiver through trade in the upcoming draft.
“Miller expressed his faith in Brandon Beane when he arrived at the 2024 NFL draft to make a trade for a wide receiver by saying, ‘In Beane we TRUST.'”
Miller seemed to endorse the notion that the Bills may trade up in order to acquire one of the premier receiver prospects, as several other analysts have previously predicted.
Fans of the Bills are cautious about Von Miller’s past behavior.
Miller’s post was interpreted by certain Bills supporters as a wishful thinking rather than an accurate forecast, given his track record of failed predictions regarding the team’s roster strategies. Previously in the early part of 2022 season, he had shared multiple posts forecasting that former teammate Odell Beckham Jr would join their ranks and even made claims with absolute conviction about this signing materializing.
According to Miller who appeared on Richard Sherman’s podcast, it is confirmed that Odell will be joining the Bills. Miller stated that they are currently lacking a few receivers and when everything settles down, everyone knows where Odell would end up being at- with the Bills.
Following his rehabilitation of a torn ACL, Beckham sat out the entire 2022 season and eventually joined the Baltimore Ravens in the subsequent year.
Beane has taken the veteran edge rusher Miller under his wing, imparting knowledge on how to be an effective general manager. Their close bond has grown and because of this, Miller expressed interest in pursuing a career as a GM after retiring from NFL; Beane even invited him to shadow at league meetings during the past offseason.
Beane expressed his belief in Miller’s post-career goals by stating, “He appears to be serious about it, based on my interactions with him. If he has something on his mind, he’s determined to make it happen.” (As reported by the Buffalo News.)
In my opinion, he could have held a couple of meetings with me and never mentioned it again. But from where I stand, he has delved further into the matter.
Von Miller’s Prediction Endorsed by Insiders
According to Miller, there are others who believe that the Bills may trade up during this month’s draft. Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic speculates that they might seize this chance to obtain one of the leading three wide receiver candidates.
According to Buscaglia, it is improbable for the Bills to acquire top-rated receiver Marvin Harrison Jr., but they might be capable of trading up in order to secure either LSU’s Malik Nabers or Washington’s Rome Odzune.
Buscaglia argued that the Bills should capitalize on the abundance of talented receivers in this year’s draft and consider acquiring Nabers or Odunze by moving up into the latter half of the top 10.
Trading up in the first round is not something Beane shies away from, as seen when he made moves to secure cornerback Kaiir Elam and tight end Dalton Kincaid in 2022 and last year respectively.
