Reports; Rory McIlroy is close to joining LIV Golf for a whopping $850,000,000

Sources speaking with City AM have suggested the possibility of Rory McIlroy joining LIV Golf in the future, which would be a significant change given his previous loyalty to another tour. Despite recently adopting a more open perspective towards such options, this potential move by McIlroy is likely to come as quite a shock.

According to a report by TheCity A.M., two sources have disclosed that McIlroy is on the brink of signing a deal worth an extraordinary $850 million, which would considerably surpass any previous signings made by the rebel tour.

According to reports, the announcement of the deal may take place after McIlroy finishes competing in the Masters. However, there has been no confirmation of this information as both parties have not provided a comment on it yet.

For what it’s worth, McIlroy is scheduled to participate in the RBC Heritage on the PGA Tour next weekend. Ironically, he was supposed to compete last year but withdrew after a rough stretch at the Masters; therefore, switching over to LIV Golf could potentially result in him missing out on this tournament once more.

The realization of this proposal would signify the final destination after a lengthy process. Initially, McIlroy heavily criticized LIV, yet he later acknowledged his harshness and expressed a desire for their return or renewed competition among all players. This accomplishment would exceed even Jon Rahm’s signing in significance as well.

According to the Daily Mail, his previous manager Andrew Chandler said:

“Who knows? He doesn’t need £750 million but it’s odd what he’s done and I’m sure it’s a possibility. If he does it or not, I don’t know, but if Rahm can do it, most guys can do it. I think number one, there’s a 10 percent possibility he’s favoring his way to sign for LIV, but he realizes that the whole bickering and fighting is no good for golf. After Chandler estimated a meager 10% probability, McIlroy playfully retorted that his insider knowledge may reveal otherwise. According to current reports, the aforementioned 10% likelihood has escalated quite substantially.

Will Rory McIlroy be able to secure a victory in the Masters this time?

Rory McIlroy has been striving for a decade to accomplish two things. Firstly, he aims to end his Major drought which has spanned since 2014 despite coming close many times before. Secondly, he is determined to achieve his career Grand Slam by winning the coveted green jacket at Augusta National Golf Club.

Being ten strokes away from being in first place makes it challenging for him to make a miraculous comeback on the golf course.
