Breaking; Former Bills Team Captain Makes 1 Promise Ahead of Possible Return
Six players were cut by the Buffalo Bills prior to the onset of free agency, leaving many in Bills Mafia saddened to bid farewell to some of their team’s most seasoned starters. Consequently, there is a strong yearning among residents of Orchard Park for Micah Hyde’s comeback in 2024.
Following the expiration of his two-year, $19.25 million contract last season, Hyde has become a free agent. At 33 years old, he recently broke his silence on April 19 regarding what may be in store for him next. Though retirement is still an option that he’s considering, should the All-Pro choose to continue playing professionally and return to the game soon enough – there is one thing fans can count on from him with certainty- as promised by Hyde himself!
Bills reporter Maddy Glab shared on Twitter that in an interview with @WGR550, Hyde expressed uncertainty about his plans for the upcoming year and is actively considering all options. Although he continues to maintain a consistent training regimen, Hyde wants to make a well-informed decision before committing. He also mentioned that if he chooses to play again next season, it’s likely only going to be with the Bills as part of their team.
As Bills Mafia observed Jordan Poyer’s move to the Miami Dolphins, Mitch Morse signing with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Tre’Davious White leaving for the Los Angeles Rams; they were delighted to discover that Hyde had decided to stay back in Buffalo where he has played for seven seasons.
One individual expressed their hope for @micah_hyde to return this season, adding #GoBills and #BillsMafia. Meanwhile, another fan declared their admiration for Micah and anticipates his induction into the hall of fame. Additionally, they would prefer if he takes time with deciding on playing but hopes that there will be clarity soon as it facilitates planning. Lastly, regardless of the decision made by Micah regarding football activity; this person still desires him in DB room.
One Bills enthusiast shared, “I always had the aspiration of acquiring a promising rookie safety who could thrive under Hyde and Poyer’s tutelage. It would be incredible if he returns for another season should he feel inclined.”
The Bills’ General Manager, Brandon Beane, used FaceTime to discuss Micah Hyde’s future with the team.
On April 18, Bills’ GM Brandon Beane spoke to journalists and shared that he had a Facetime conversation with Hyde the day before. He expressed his delight at seeing him and praised his skills as both a player and an individual.
His smile is contagious and he has a positive outlook on life. Instead of seeing the glass half empty, he views it as completely full. I aspire to have his perspective every day because he’s an excellent person – mature beyond most players’ age. Our talk about life was fantastic.
Regarding Hyde’s potential retirement from football, Beane stated that he is uncertain whether or not a final decision has been made. He clarified that the topic wasn’t pressed and emphasized his lack of consensus on Hyde playing again in the future.
Although Amanda Hyde, wife of Hyde, suggested that they bid farewell to Buffalo once the season ends in 2023; her husband’s ultimate verdict is still pending.
Bills News: Micah Hyde Is Returning to Buffalo for His Annual Charity Game
