Breaking; Ex-Bills RB Frank Gore Issues 2-Word Warning After Son Signs With Buffalo
“If anyone doubts my son’s abilities, they’ll see,” warns Frank Gore.
After his son, Frank Gore Jr., was signed by the Buffalo Bills on April 27 as an undrafted free agent following a successful career at Southern Miss, the iconic running back who had spent a season with the team towards the end of his playing days spoke up.
Next season in Buffalo, with minimal experienced depth behind starting player James Cook; the younger Gore has an opportunity to secure a place on the roster.
“My lineage is authentic,” stated Frank Gore Sr.
The senior Gore expressed enthusiasm to CBS Sports’ Josina Anderson about his son’s signing with the Bills, confident that he will have an instant effect.
“We’re all set. We’ll be heading to Buffalo to handle our business,” declared Gore Sr., as reported by Anderson on X, before adding: “Let them know they should prepare themselves because we mean business.”
In his four seasons at Southern Miss, Gore Jr. left a significant mark by delivering 26 touchdowns and amassing an impressive 4,022 yards on the ground. Despite being considered as a prospective Day 3 draft selection pick, he went undrafted but promptly inked a deal with Buffalo after the draft ended.
Gore Sr. expressed no worries about his son’s undrafted status and remarked that he saw elements of himself in junior’s playing style.
Gore confidently stated, “I am well aware of what I’m nurturing. My son and I have both been underestimated by many folks in the past but they will soon realize that our bloodline is authentic. During pre-draft testing, we had identical results which caused scouts to recognize my son as mine.”
During the 2019 season, Gore Sr. was on the Bills team and contributed to their success by rushing for a total of 599 yards and two touchdowns while also recording 13 catches that amounted up to an additional 100 yards. His performance assisted in securing a spot for the Bills in playoffs that year.
Gore Sr. expressed his immense trust in Bills’ general manager Brandon Beane while conversing with Anderson.
Anderson quoted Gore Sr. as saying “My son is the real deal, and I’m delighted to have brought him this far. We are here to compete, and Buffalo has acquired a true fighter – no doubts about that.”
The Backfield of the Bills Receives Attention.
With only James Cook and Ty Johnson returning from last year’s backfield, the Bills lacked depth. However, they remedied this issue by selecting Ray Davis, a Kentucky running back chosen at No. 128 overall in the draft. This addition provides some much-needed size and power behind Cook for a more well-rounded offense.
Considered a multi-talented player, the running back weighs 211 pounds and stands at 5 feet 8 inches. According to Katherine Fitzgerald from Buffalo News, during his sole season with Kentucky he managed to earn recognition as an asset both in rushing as well receiving aspects of the game by catching 33 passes for approximately three hundred and twenty-three yards along with seven touchdowns while scoring fourteen times through rushes alone.
Davis declared, “I possess the capability to protect, rush and serve as a valuable asset in passing. I aim for defensive coordinators not to be able to prepare against me effectively; whether they assign a linebacker or free safety on me when I’m present during games.” He continues by stating that his presence means being an all-around threat whether it’s through running the ball or catching passes.
