Breaking News: Bills Named Top Landing Spot for 3-Time Pro-Bowl WR
The NFL Draft has injected some youthful vigor into the Buffalo Bills’ wide receiving team, and they are now looking to add a seasoned player for balance.
According to David Kenyon from Bleacher Report, the Buffalo Bills are among the most likely teams for Odell Beckham Jr. to land on as a free agent after his single season with the Baltimore Ravens. Kenyon proposes that Beckham could enhance their receiving group following recent changes such as trading Stefon Diggs to Houston Texans and losing Gabe Davis in free agency.
Competition in the division could be a possibility for Bills.
Kenyon observed that in May, Beckham had come close to signing with the rival team Miami Dolphins. Although both parties met, they were unable to reach an agreement on a contract. According to the analyst at Bleacher Report, although the Dolphins are still highly likely as potential suitors for Beckham’s acquisition; however, he mentioned that another viable option could be the Buffalo Bills.
Kenyon suggested that the veteran receiver, despite being plagued with injuries and a decrease in productivity, may still have plenty to bring to a new team.
According to Kenyon, last season with the Baltimore Ravens, Beckham managed to catch 35 passes for a total of 565 yards and three touchdowns despite playing in only half of their games. This suggests that he still has room for improvement and potential going forward.
According to some experts, Beckham and the Bills could be a great match. AtoZ Sports’ Jarrett Bailey suggested in February that despite being potentially traded or cut mid-season if he fails to perform well; adding Beckham would still provide the team with valuable benefits at an affordable cost.
Bailey suggested that despite Beckham’s lackluster performance with the Ravens, who overpaid him at $15 million with a whopping $13+ million in guarantees for just 37 catches this year alone, signing him to an affordable one-year contract could lead to great benefits within a more pass-oriented Bills team given his career stage.
The Bills were linked to Beckham as a potential free agent in the 2022 season, but he remained unsigned due to his recovery from an ACL injury. The following year, Beckham joined the Ravens instead.
Bills Adding Youth to Receiving Corps
Keon Coleman, a pass-catcher from Florida State University, was the top draft pick invested by the Bills as they sought to replace their two leading wide receivers.
Coleman expressed his willingness to invest all of his resources in catching up with quarterback Josh Allen and the rest of the team during an episode of “RG3 and The Ones” podcast where he was interviewed alongside Robert Griffin III.
Coleman explained, “Everything starts by understanding how much they enjoy playing ball and competing to win. Once you comprehend that, it’s time to analyze film with them. As football is my only passion in life right now; therefore, I am willing to learn everything there is about the game and vibe along.”
After being drafted, Coleman was contacted by Allen and he maintains that their mutual drive to win will form the basis for a sturdy bond.
“We are going to do everything it takes as we both share immense love for the game, which will undoubtedly propel our relationship forward,” Coleman stated. “Our aim is to win right now!”
